Ernaste NASIMO – Artist

Ernaste Nasimo, known by the names Naste, Nasimo, Kardami Kapila Das, or by his birth name Stanislav Trifonov, is a multifaceted artist whose journey began during Bulgaria’s inaugural graffiti wave in the 90s.

His artistic footprint spans across continents, with murals adorning walls in Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Kosovo, Turkey, India, China, and Russia.

In 2009, Nasimo introduced the term #Fine Graff Art, a concept he believes to be the offspring of graffiti and classical paintings.

Technically, Nasimo’s approach is a harmonious blend of the rebellious expression found in street art and the delicate finesse of traditional painting. Utilizing mixed media such as oil, acrylic, spray, markers, and rollers, he embraces the evolving world and eagerly anticipates integrating technology into his work.

Philosophically, Nasimo explores timeless themes that transcend social, political, religious, national, or local boundaries, delving into the internal human experience that remains relevant even beyond our mortality.

A passionate advocate for cross-disciplinary collaborations, Nasimo has enriched the experiences of spectators through collaborations with esteemed artists in seven solo exhibitions.

His impactful presence extends beyond the canvas, with works featured prominently in publications like “Graffiti world” (2004), “Mural art” (2008), and “Brain Damage” Graffiti magazine. Nasimo’s artistic legacy is further etched in his books, including “Napalm graffix” (2007), “A graffiti of cats” (2011), “25 years of Nasimo, The sketchbook” (2019), and “The Supper box” (2022).

Nasimo’s solo exhibitions, from ‘Scratching Instinct’ at Gallery 1908 in Sofia, Bulgaria, to ‘There is a Light’ at Urban Creatures, IEC in Sofia, Bulgaria, reflect the evolution of his artistry. His participation in group exhibitions, such as ‘East meet East’ in London (2010) and ’28 European Stars’ at Go Gallery in Amsterdam (2019), showcase his global impact.

Nasimo’s commitment to artistic education is evident in his Fine Art studies at the University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, from 1998 to 2003.

Recognized for his contributions, Nasimo received the ‘Enlightener of the Walls’ award from Bulgarian National Television and FM+ Radio in 2016. In 2018, he was acknowledged for his cultural contributions to fine arts by the Municipal of Targovishte. The pinnacle of his accolades came in 2022 when Nasimo received the John Dalton Art Prize, a grand award for a figurative artist.

Nasimo’s artistic journey continues to unfold, promising a future where traditional techniques seamlessly intertwine with contemporary possibilities. His exhibitions are not just showcases of art but invitations to immerse oneself in the world of #Fine Graff Art.
