The work expresses the theme of death and its relationship with life, using the skull as a symbol of the end and transformation, the statue as a symbol of beauty and survival, and the eye as a symbol of vision and knowledge. The contrast between black and white, between the organic shape of the skull and the sculptural shape of the statue, between the sky and the rocky earth creates an effect of surrealism and wonder. The work also includes some symbolic elements, such as the desert landscape which recalls the idea of solitude and mystery, the flight of birds which represents freedom and transcendence, the sphere which symbolizes wisdom, and the woman which symbolizes grace and the cure.
