Lubomir Yotov is a contemporary Bulgarian artist specializing in watercolor painting. He was born on July 13, 1961, in the village of Telish, Pleven Province. Growing up in a rural environment, he developed a deep connection to nature—land, animals, and water—which became a lasting source of inspiration in his art. This close bond with the natural world is clearly reflected in the emotional depth and visual language of his works.
In the past decade, Lubomir Yotov rediscovered his passion for watercolor and developed a distinctive personal style that sets him apart from other watercolor artists. His work is characterized by bold experimentation with color and technique, as well as a free and expressive approach.
Yotov has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Bulgaria and abroad. He is a member of the International Watercolor Society – Bulgaria and the National Watercolor Society in California, USA. His paintings have been selected for international watercolor festivals and traveling exhibitions in Italy (Fabriano and Urbino), Poland, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and other countries.
He represented Bulgaria in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd International Watercolor Triennial in Varna, held in 2016, 2019, and 2022—one of the most significant global events in the field of watercolor art.
